Apple's J490 smart home display, internally called the HomePad, has slipped again. Originally targeted for 2025, then spring 2026, the device is now reportedly scheduled for a fall 2026 launch. Leaker Kosutami posted the delay on X, and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman confirmed it.

The holdup is Siri. Apple is waiting on a chatbot-style AI overhaul before shipping the J490, and that update is running late. The robot-arm variant of the same product family has been pushed even further, now targeting 2027.
