The first-generation Apple AirTag has hit a new all-time low price: $13.91 at Walmart, down from its $29 retail price. That is more than 50 percent off for a tracker that still outperforms most of its competition.

The original AirTag uses a UWB chip and Apple's Find My network to guide you directly to lost items with on-screen arrows and distance estimates, not just a vague location ping. It supports location sharing with up to five people and integrates with American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and other carriers for lost luggage tracking. The CR2032 battery lasts roughly a year and is user-replaceable.

The second-gen model, released in January, extends tracking range by 50 percent, includes a louder speaker, and adds Apple Watch Precision Finding for Series 9 and newer. Those are real upgrades. But at $13.91, the original is the better purchase for anyone who just needs reliable item tracking inside the Apple ecosystem. The full review explains exactly where the first-gen still holds up and where it starts to show its age.
