Samsung is adding a dedicated Google Search bar to the bottom of the homescreen on Galaxy phones. The feature, arriving in the next major software update, mirrors what Pixel phones have shipped with for years.
The placement matters. Bottom-of-screen search puts Google one tap away from the thumb, without unlocking an app drawer or swiping. Samsung is not inventing this. They are copying it, which tells you something about how effective it has proven on Pixel hardware.
