Apple's foldable iPhone will ship with an iPad-style split-screen multitasking interface, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The outer display matches a small iPhone in size. The inner display uses a wider aspect ratio, closer to Google's first-generation Pixel Fold than current competitors like the Pixel 9 Pro Fold or Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Two hard limits define this device. It will not run existing iPad apps, and it will not include Face ID. Apple is apparently building a new software layer to exploit the larger canvas without simply porting its tablet ecosystem onto it.
