The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the first mainstream Samsung foldable to fail a bend test. Every prior Samsung foldable survived similar torture tests. This one did not.
The failure matters because Samsung has been pushing aggressively thinner form factors with each generation. Thinner means less structural material between the hinge and the outer frame. At some point, physics wins.
